The Child Care Services Branch of the YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate part-time School Age Child Care Substitute for the 2019-2020 school year.
Substitutes work as needed when a particular school site is short staffed for the day.
You can choose to be an on call sub (which means you can be flexible in your availability) or a scheduled sub (which means we will schedule you to work every day you are available).
All subs must be available a minimum of 2 days a week. This position is under the supervision of the Program Director.
These YMCA programs are at off-site elementary school location where the Y provides quality care for preschool and/or school age children. Hours vary based on location during the school year.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Organizing your schedule to be timely and dependable
Flexibility in working at different sites
Maintaining positive and open communication with students, staff, parents, and supervisors.
Implementing a set curriculum and schedule.
Demonstrating leadership qualities by working with fellow staff, getting input and giving direction.
Preferred attendance to Program Director’s Monthly Staff Meeting.
Completing 12 hours of training per year (some online).
Provide diverse participants with age-appropriate activities to promote a safe, fun, nurturing learning environment and memorable experiences with the YMCA.
PAY RATE DETAILS
Starting pay range: $9.25 to $9.75 depending on experience
Hours Available: Monday through Friday,
Before Care (6:15-8:10 am)
After Care (2:30-6:00 pm)

SCHOOL SITES ARE NOT AT YMCA BRANCHES
Minimum of 18 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent, preferred.

Able to fulfill all demands in spirit, mind, and body as a site assistant for child care services.

Possible free individual membership at all YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne facilities (Allen, Whitley, Wells counties); part-time staff have the opportunity for a small cost to add additional eligible members.
