Under the direction of the Parkview Family YMCA Aquatics Director, the Swim Instructor is responsible for providing a safe and positive instructional swimming environment for Y members and program participants.
They must provide strong leadership, instruction and motivation for developing the abilities of swimmers of various ages and diverse skill levels by conducting swim lessons that are in accordance to the core values and standards set by the National Aquatic YMCA programs.
Through the work of the Swim Instructor, participants will learn to swim or expand their current ability in a safe and enjoyable environment giving them skills and love for swimming that they can use for life.
PAY RATE DETAILS
Starting pay range: $8.50 to $9.50 depending on experience
Hours Available at the Parkview Family YMCA 10001 Dawsons Creek Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN 46825
Minimum of 16 years of age.
Reliable transportation to attend work.
Able to fulfill all demands and skills in spirit, mind, and body for a certified swim instructor in accordance with YMCA standards.
Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude.
Committed to contributing to the mission, cause, and values of the YMCA.
Pre-Hire: American Red Cross or YMCA Water Safety Instructor, Certification from the YMCA or other accredited association preferred (i.e. LGI, and YMCA PYAL, etc.)
Free individual membership at all YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne facilities (Allen, Whitley, Wells counties); part-time staff have the opportunity for a small cost to add additional eligible members.
